The Party Committee of the company shall partially organize and carry out the “striving for becoming civilized units, civilized teams and civilized employees” (Three Strives) events by considering the new situation of the reform and development of the company; keep enhancing employees’ awareness of civilization construction and intensify the enterprising team spirit inside the company via the biennial “civilized unit appraisal” of the company. In 2001, the company established a tenet that is to “make contribution for and benefit from the company’s growth”, which has played a positive role in leading employees to bind their interests to the company’s interests, fostering the team spirit and thus accomplishing both individual and corporate goals. When fostering the team spirit among employees that encourages them to overcome difficulties, collaborate and seek for development together, the Three Strives events, especially the striving for becoming civilized units, bring employees together with a common goal, motivate them with common responsibilities, and encourage them with shared honor. The events work well in building first-ranking teams and promoting the company’s production and operation to a whole new stage. Meanwhile, the company collected mottoes from employees, made 31 selected mottoes into plaques and hung them along the both sides of the main roads in the company as incentives. In 2002, the Party Committee of the company organized the collection of 264 corporate tenets from employees with respect to product, operation, quality, management, technology, talents and market, and filtered and refined those tenets. Meanwhile, the Party Committee organized campaign for choosing and extracting those tenets. In 2005, the company modified and improved the “Three Strives” plan in consideration of the fact that it had been restructured into a joint venture. In 2008, the company put focus on the construction of corporate values, and incorporated the philosophy of “clients’ requirement is our work standard” into our core values of integrity. Committed to producing premium products that are accepted by the market and trusted by users, we share our values with employees to advocate the ideas that “quality is the life of an enterprise” and “labor without quality is vain”. In this way we have promoted the awareness of responsibility among employees who are willing to contribute to the enhancement of quality.
On May 12, 2008, an 8.0-magnitude earthquake stroke Wenchuan, Sichuan. With a concern over the stricken area, all employees of the company actively donated a total of RMB 350,012. In 2009, the Party Committee of the company intensified the learning and training for leaders and cadres in the face of the severe situation. The purpose was to raise the recognition for restoring confidence in crisis; enhance the ability of reacting to and preventing risks in complicated environment; raise the competitiveness to accept challenges and seize market opportunities; enhance the ability of fulfilling goals against all odds. The company educated employees on the situation and their tasks, led employees to buck the trend, motivated them to go into action. Based on the operation principles of “vying for contracts, reserving cash, reducing cost and inventory, adjusting structure, promoting growth, combating risks and maintaining stability”, the company further planted the idea of “making contribution for and benefit from the company’s growth” deeply into every employee. In this way all employees volunteered their plans, skills, efforts and wisdom to jointly resist recession and combat risks. Meanwhile, the company implemented the Employee Manual down to every level, organized the launching ceremony of the Employee Manual and communicated it on a company-wide basis; and extensively hosted learning and discussion activities with the theme of “how to be a qualified employee”. The communication and execution of the Employee Manual also jump-started the cultivation of outstanding corporate culture. On April 14, 2010, a 7.1-magnitude earthquake struck Yushu, Qinghai. All employees of the company donated a total of RMB 247,103.50 to the stricken areas in Yushu. From 2011 to 2013, facing changes to both external and internal environment of the company, the company still made efforts to establish harmonious corporate culture through Three Strikes events, and to enhance employees’ quality and build up shared values by sticking to communication and execution of the Employee Manual. In the past 15 years, the company has been titled the “Civilized Unit of Jiangsu” for 5 consecutive times, the “National Civilized Unit in Machinery Industry” for 3 consecutive times, and the “Civilized Unit of Nanjing” for 4 consecutive times.
